"Thank you, Father"

Gratitude helps forward our spiritual growth.

ONCE WHEN I was feeling overwhelmed with problems—when it looked as if everything that could go wrong, had—I called a Christian Science practitioner to pray with me. This kind individual told me to whisper gently from my childlike heart, "Thank you, Father, for your oneness, your allness, and your great love." At once I felt the power of that simple prayer of thanksgiving.

God's oneness and allness includes me—my true being is in Him, is made by Him, is one in quality with Him. God's great love, let into our heart and mind, wipes out all fear. I was instantly lifted out of that horrible sense of being forgotten, forsaken, stepped on, of being the lowest of them all.

What had happened? The circumstances had not changed, but my attitude had. I had changed from moaning and groaning to joyfully thanking our Father-Mother God for His oneness, His allness, and His great love. The circumstances changed for the better soon after the change of attitude, and my gratitude was being expressed.
