As experts from Boston University's Center for Millennial Studies (CMS) track humanity's march to ward 2000 and beyond, they warn that everyone will be touched in some way by millennial thinking — whether it is religious, UFO-oriented, or political; serious or kooky. "At around the year 2000 we begin to read events in apocalyptic mode," explains Richard Landes, a medieval scholar and founder of the CMS. "Much of this stuff is going on below the level of direct consciousness." Landes believes that everyone will be affected in some way millennial thinking.

Rosemary Ellen Guiley, of Arnold, Maryland, has written a fourth book on prayer, this one called prayer Works. In speaking about the book, she emphasizes the importance of being honest and expectant in our prayers. When a reply doesn't come right away, we may think our prayer is not being answered, but she says we need to be open to whatever guidance we get and to keep looking for the open door instead of focusing on those that are closed.
