How a magnet taught a lesson in honesty
I Am Judy's mommy, and I would like to tell you of a time that she experienced a hard-learned lesson in honesty. At home and in the Christian Science Sunday School, she was learning that she was made in the image and likeness of God. That meant that she was loving, kind, honest, and good. She was learning that as God's child, she should always treat others as she would like to be treated. This is the Golden Rule.
One day she came home from school and showed her brother and me a small object that looked like an ordinary bolt. She placed it on top of our round metal doorknob and then let it go. It spun around the knob going back and forth until it finally came to rest at the bottom of the doorknob. What fun! It was fascinating to watch.
"Where did you get this magnet?" I asked her. "Oh! I found it," she replied.
