Ringworm cured
In December of 1996, while I was getting a haircut, my barber, who was the only one who could see a rough, red patch of skin on my scalp, said I had ringworm and needed to have it treated. I had been struggling with an itch on the back of my head for at least two years. Now, I contacted a Christian Science practitioner for treatment through prayer. He let me know that there was nothing to fear. Although ringworm is considered contagious, I had absolute confidence I would not give it to anyone else. Mary Baker Eddy writes in Science and Health: "In reality there is no mortal mind, and consequently no transference of mortal thought and will-power. Life and being are of God. In Christian Science, man can do no harm, for scientific thoughts are true thoughts, passing from God to man" (pp. 103–104).
For a time I prayed while sitting on my hands, to keep from scratching.
