According to a World Health Organization report, people throughout the world—even in less-developed countries—will experience improved health in the twenty-first century. Life expectancy could increase so significantly that people born at the end of this century could still be alive when it is time to greet the twenty-second century.

Experts caution, however, that improved health will require a commitment to wise choices that preserve individual mental and physical well-being.
