Stomach disorder healed
In the fall of 1993, I took a trip to South America for several months. It was a time of tremendous progress for me, both in learning a new language and in practicing what I was learning of Christian Science. It was one of the first times I clearly proved for myself that there is a direct connection between prayer and healing.
One morning, midway into the trip, I woke up vomiting and feeling as if I had eaten something spoiled. Warnings people had given me about eating the food and drinking the water in a foreign country passed through my mind, and I became fearful. I tried calling a Christian Science practitioner for treatment, but couldn't reach one. I also telephoned my mother in the United States to pray for me, but when I reached her answering machine, I left no message. Deep inside, I knew that God was holding my hand through this, and I could trust Him.
