From a singer, real love songs
A conversation with contemporary folk song writer and singer Mindy Jostyn
There's a song in Mindy Jostyn's repertoire, "In His Eyes," that sometimes moves listeners to tears. "This song was a gift to me," she says. "Anyone who composes music knows the feeling of simply being the receiver of ideas. I'm grateful to have 'received' the idea for this song, because it often seems to stir people."
The song was written with her husband, Jacob Brackman, a lyricist, author, and screenwriter. They've been collaborating since they first met. Now, "In His Eyes" has become a lullaby for Mindy and Jacob's infant son, Isaiah:
