Spiritual growth—here and now
How to grow closer to God
A PATH TO BE TRAVELED
Imagine that you are standing on one side of a thick forest, and you need to open a trail to the other side. You've worked for three days, and your path extends a good distance into the forest. On the fourth morning, someone asks you, "How are you going to make progress?"
You would probably answer, "I'll go to the end of the path I've cleared so far and remove the next obstacle in the way. Then I'll continue on." Sounds pretty straightforward. The only way to break new ground is to move forward. If you stay in the area you've already cleared, as comfortable as that might be, you'll never advance.
