Spiritual study results in harmonious childbirth

In 1992, my husband and I were happy to learn that we were expecting our first child. However, I was apprehensive about childbirth and knew that only prayer and spiritual growth would heal this fear. A Christian Science practitioner agreed to treat us as needed and shared many helpful ideas with us during the pregnancy. I also enjoyed spending time at the local Christian Science Reading Room, studying references to childbirth in the Bible, Mrs. Eddy's writings, and the Christian Science periodicals.

The pregnancy was a happy, active time. As I realized that proper diet and exercise should be natural, I learned to ask God what I should eat and how I should be active, and all was normal and balanced. During this time my husband and I had been spending most of our weekends looking for a house to buy. But after so many months, the search had become difficult and frustrating.

We couldn't find what we were looking for.
