Safety: sheer luck— or spiritual intuition?
Your safety is a matter of divine law, not luck.
Many People Credit intuition with saving them from dangerous situations. They describe having a "gut feeling" or hearing a "little voice" warning them. This intuition is often unsolicited, and the recipient's response is, "Boy, was I lucky." But is intuition only luck? Or is there some way to cultivate the intuition that keeps us out of harm's way?
God is always directing our paths, and His messages come in a form that we can understand. Because God is Spirit, His messages are spiritual. We are more and more discerning of God's messages as we grow spiritually. Giving more attention to God, divine Spirit; cultivating a love of things spiritual; listening for God's guidance; expressing goodness, wisdom, and lovingkindness—these are what cultivate our spiritual intuition.
Let me illustrate with a true story. Friends of mine own a cabin that sustained some damage during an ice storm. A fallen tree pulled down electrical power lines, leaving live wires on the ground. My friends asked the local electric company to turn the power off (which they agreed to do) so that the damage could be repaired. Over a period of months, these friends and their children removed debris from the property, often brushing against or lifting the wires out of the way. But they did one other thing, too. My friends' intuition told them to pray and affirm that God is all-wise and all-knowing, and thus He was keeping them safe during all the work they did at the cabin.
