SPIRITUAL JOURNEYS
I didn't believe I could stop stealing ...
To go to a woman who loved and trusted me and tell her that I had violated that love by stealing seemed an overwhelming task.
While I was growing up, I came to believe that some sinful behavior was a necessary component of surviving life's challenges. Wouldn't I miss a lot if I were completely honest?
Then one Wednesday evening, while I attended a testimony meeting at church, I heard this read: "Honesty is spiritual power" (Science and Health, p.453). It hit me like a thunderbolt. Was I honest? I had never asked myself that question before, but I knew the answer was a negative one.
