When our baby daughter was about five months old, I noticed that she had failed to eliminate properly. She did not seem distressed over this, and at first I thought the problem would just go away. But after several days had elapsed I realized I needed to do more. I needed to pray vigorously. I also decided to call a practitioner for help. He began Christian Science treatment. Within four hours the child eliminated and, I might add, we never faced such a problem again with her.

At another time, our toddler son had a quick healing of intestinal flu when a practitioner began to pray for him.

For many years I enjoyed teaching in a wonderful inner-city school. One class I taught, however, seemed to be especially unruly. The children appeared rude, acted quarrelsome, and were uncooperative. I prayed to heal this situation. I knew that I had been acting responsibly: I had been punctual, had carefully written lesson plans and good examples, and all the daily materials were ready. Still, this class went its own way. One morning I called for help from a practitioner, and she lovingly took my case. In about fifteen minutes I was calm. It was time for the class to return from gymnasium, and I went to get them. My thought was uplifted, and now I could see the calm reflected in my students. The class and I spent a beautiful, relaxed, cooperative, and productive day. There were signs of affection, too! Two little girls ran up to say how much they loved me! The change took place in God's way and was permanent.
