God helps us stop
One day I was playing at a friend's house. My friend owed me a quarter and told me that she was going to steal it from her baby sitter. I told her that she shouldn't steal, but she said, "It's just a dumb quarter." I thought about what I should do next. I heard God's still, small voice tell me to talk about the commandment "Thou shalt not steal" (Ex. 20:15).
When I talked about it, she stopped. She said, "I guess you're right." She was happy. She'd heard that commandment before in her Sunday School.
God is always in control. Since all of us can pray, we can all "stop" with God's help if we're thinking about doing something we shouldn't. Or we can help somebody else "stop" too.
