Christian love
To live for all mankind
is to love God first, we find,
to have another's good always in mind.
Then the blots of restless emptiness
become filled with focused thoughtfulness;
we share a prayer for more than "me,"
see that even a timely smile
can cheer another's trial of grief,
giving long-looked-for relief,
and can sow in that heart's ready place
a grain of God's comforting grace.
Do you desire good, peace, love that is real?
Seek pure Christ, Truth, that precious pearl,
divinely given to tenderly heal,
heart by heart, a waiting world.
