Is seeing really believing?
Once , when I was in the market for a house for my children and myself, I found what seemed to be the perfect one—the right size, right price, plenty of beautiful trees. I was a Girl Scout leader, and the local Girl Scout house was just a short walk away, not to mention the community duck pond!
I felt that before I purchased a house, however, I should better understand the true qualities of home. For example, I thought of space not as defined by the measure of square feet that needed to be filled but by the spiritual qualities that already filled all space—harmony, peace, and joy. As I thought along these lines in regard to many other qualities of home, I prepared myself to discern the good that God had in store for me wherever that might lead.
As a result, it was not surprising that I did not end up purchasing what had seemed the perfect house. With God's help, I was learning that there was more to see here than met the eye.
