A QUESTIONS & ANSWERS EXCHANGE

Q. Are all the healings described in articles in the Christian Science periodicals verified as thoroughly as those in the Testimonies section? In sharing articles from the periodicals and the articles on Christian Science from the Monitor, I have had others express appreciation with a tinge of "that's a good story" skepticism. —from a reader in Ohio

A. Thanks for the question. Every published healing experience, whether it appears in a Senitel, Journal, or Herald article, in a testimony, or in the daily Monitor religious article, is authenticated. The author is asked to submit three verifications from individuals who directly witnessed the healing. (Oftentimes one of these comes from the Christian Science practitioner who was on the case.) Of course, sometimes healings occur very quietly or rapidly without other people present. In such cases, the author must provide names of individuals who can vouch for his or her integrity and attest that, to the best of their knowledge, the writer is recounting the experience honestly and truthfully.

You have our complete assurance that the healing examples are far more than just "good stories." They're evidences of divine Truth in action! —from the editorial staff
