One morning while cooking breakfast, I flipped the sausage...

One morning while cooking breakfast, I flipped the sausage over and the hot grease splattered on my hand. The pain was intense and I begin to be fearful. I turned away from cooking, and immediately the thought came, "'There is no sensation in matter'" (Science and Health, p. 237). I declared out loud, "There is no sensation in matter! There is no sensation in matter!" I felt the pain decrease with each declaration until the pain stopped. This took place within a matter of seconds.

I resumed my cooking and the pain started up again. I mentally and vehemently declared the same truth and the pain faded away quickly.

After breakfast, I somehow hit the injured hand against the sink, but as a result of instantly affirming the truth I felt no pain. And the marks of the burn quickly faded, as well.

I am most grateful to God for this proof of His immediate care and to Mrs. Eddy for discovering Christian Science and giving it to the world. Truly, "the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword" (Heb. 4:12).

The marks of the burn quickly faded.
