I first learned to trust God when I was a little girl
I first learned to trust God when I was a little girl.
As I stood on the school playground looking for a lost bicycle lock key I prayed with familiar words from a hymn by Mrs. Eddy: "Shepherd, show me how to go ..." (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 304). I had already searched around the vast playground for a minute or two without success. But after I asked God for direction with this prayer, I looked down and saw my key only a few feet away. I thanked God for His help and went back to my classroom. This was a very meaningful experience for me.
More recently, as an adult, I had another proof of God's care. One morning the ball of my foot was sore. Because the discomfort was mild, I ignored it. Throughout the day, however, and over the next couple of days, the condition grew worse; and I had considerable difficulty walking normally.
