One evening on my way home from work, on a busy highway...
One evening on my way home from work, on a busy highway, I had to stop very suddenly. My car skidded onto the shoulder and turned completely around. I felt at the time that I had seen an example of God's loving protection. When I arrived home, without thinking, I picked up my Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy to read from the first page on. I became absorbed in this reading, and read each evening after work until I'd read it from cover to cover several times.
Various ideas would be particularly meaningful as I was reading. One was on page 283: "Mind is the source of all movement, and there is no inertia to retard or check its perpetual and harmonious action." Another, on page 72: "God, good, being ever present, it follows in divine logic that evil, the suppositional opposite of good, is never present."
During this time of reading, I had several healings. I had suffered from severe migraine headaches for more than twenty years, and one day I realized I no longer had headaches—I could not remember when I had had the last one.
