FOR CHILDREN
Good news: God loves you!
Edward was a preschooler and attended Sunday School. On Sunday mornings, he loved to get up early and jump into bed with his mom and dad. Their bed was big enough so that the whole family could fit in it, including his sister Alice and his cat Charcoal. After reading the comics in the Sunday paper, his family would get dressed, eat breakfast, then head for church and Sunday School, where they all learned about God and His care for us.
One day Edward woke up early, but he did not jump out of bed. He felt sick. He knew that his neighbor Mark had been sick all week and had even missed preschool. Everyone on the street said that Mark had had the chickenpox.
Just then the doorbell rang. Edward and his mother answered the door. There was Mark standing on the porch. Mark explained that he was all well, so he was going back to preschool. He was wondering if Edward could play with him that afternoon. Edward said that he wasn't sure because he didn't feel very well. Mark looked closely at Edward and said, "I hope you don't have chickenpox!"
