Soon after starting to study Christian Science, I developed an unsightly rash on my face. A friend brought me some salve, saying someone she knew had had good results from using it. After she left, I took the salve into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. And I asked myself, "Shall I use it or not?" Then it came to me clear as a bell that that was not the point. The point was that I needed to know that God is All. So I reasoned to myself that if God was All-in-all, why did I need this? I put the salve away. In a few days my face was perfectly clear.
One time I attended a Sweet Adeline convention. On the last evening of the competitions it grew late, and there were still more groups to be heard. The next morning I was to fly to San Francisco with my husband. I knew I should have left, but I was having a good time, and so I stayed until the very end.
While in San Francisco I had unpleasant tingles up and down my spine. I was alone in our hotel room. I studied the Bible Lesson deeply. When the sensations again hit me, I was so full of the Spirit that I laughed, and that was the end of it. Later that day I walked up and down the hills with no trace of fatigue.
