One Comforter
"As one whom his mother comforteth,
so will I comfort you;
and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem." Isaiah 66:13
Tender promise to a songless night.
Gentle hope shining as a distant star.
Science, God's gift of mother-love
to the universe and to me,
Fulfilment of promised Comforter,
revealing God as
Mother, Love.
Adorable, near Mother enfolding me,
I feel Your sweet constancy ever with me,
claiming me as Your own,
a daughter of Jerusalem.
I am filled with joyous song.
Promise, fulfilment, realization—one,
replacing night with everlasting day.
