Can sunlight be invaded by darkness?

Christian Science opens the door to health by revealing that man is the spiritual image and likeness of infinite Spirit, God, who includes no element of discord. Therefore health is not merely a human condition but a permanent and inviolate spiritual quality of man's God-reflected being. Man's spiritual selfhood can no more be invaded by sin and disease than sunlight can be invaded by darkness. While this fact is a present reality, we need to recognize it and demonstrate it.

In proportion as we wholeheartedly accept the supremacy and allness of Spirit, we're able to drop off material misconceptions of life and substance. We learn that we do not have two identities—one spiritual and the other material—but one only, and it is incorporeal.

Gaining a spiritual sense of life allows the influence of Spirit to permeate our lives, replacing inharmony with harmony and sin with holiness. The result is a Christ-filled consciousness manifested in health and wholeness.
