The key to consistent peace

An adage says, "Speak to the prince in a man and the prince will come forth." Perhaps this sounds impractical! But very often if we appeal to the best nature of an individual, we do get a positive response. It may not be a "prince's" voice, but it probably won't be a snarl, either!

There are times, of course, when the people we have to deal with don't seem to respond to our efforts. This tends to occur because we are looking at them from a purely human standpoint and trying to find perfection. Under these circumstances, finding "the prince" may be a fairly uncertain process.

The Bible, however, gives us the key to consistent harmony and peace with our fellow beings. It tells us that God, who is infinite Spirit, divine Love, created all, and all He created was good. Therefore man, God's image, or reflection, must express Spirit. At first this might seem difficult to accept. But doesn't it seem reasonable that if God created us in His likeness and God is Spirit, then we must be spiritual too? It follows that the true nature of everyone must be spiritual and Godlike. As Christ Jesus said, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth" (John 4:24). We could not do this if we did not already express His nature.
