The job that's right for you
Every one of us is employed. Yes, right now, in positions that are especially suited to each one of us. Our employer is God, and the work is fulfilling and well rewarded. Our heavenly Father has work for all of us, and He never gives any of us the wrong job. We can never be laid off from this work, nor can someone else take away the job that is ours to do. An infinite God, good, must have an infinite supply of purposeful employment for every one of His ideas.
The Bible tells us that God created man in His own image, male and female. It tells us that He blessed them and gave them this job description: "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth" (Gen. 1:28). Commenting on this passage, Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health: "Divine Love blesses its own ideas, and causes them to multiply,—to manifest His power. Man is not made to till the soil. His birthright is dominion, not subjection. He is lord of the belief in earth and heaven,—himself subordinate alone to his Maker" (pp. 517–518).
God's purpose for you and your special talents must fit. Just as each ray of the sun occupies its own place in the emanation of light from the sun, so individual man as the image and likeness, or reflection, of God has a special role to play in the infinite expression of Deity. It would be impossible to have an empty space or an out-of-place ray in the irradiance of light from the sun. It's equally impossible for divine Mind to have an unsuitable, purposeless, or blank idea.
