After having experienced a stillbirth and a miscarriage, I...
After having experienced a stillbirth and a miscarriage, I began to read the Bible and Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy very earnestly. I really needed to know more about God's love. Study of the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson was an inspiration to me, as was going to church.
I was afraid that the miscarriages indicated something was physically wrong with me. Doctors now considered me a "high risk" patient, and I was told testing and medication would be required if I were to get pregnant again. They advised me to wait awhile.
A Christian Science practitioner I spoke with about this took me under her wing, helping me to see that I was already perfect as the child of God. We prayed daily to destroy my fears, which were many. One day my husband and I attended a Christian Science lecture. Prior to becoming a Christian Science practitioner and teacher, the lecturer had been a medical doctor. We were inspired by this lecture because she talked about her work as a pediatrician and how she was led to Christian Science.
