Women's History Month focuses on action

Each year in the United States, March is designated as National Women's History Month. This year the theme has been "In every generation, action frees our dreams."

Mary Baker Eddy's actions as Discoverer of Christian Science, author of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, and Founder of the Church of Christ, Scientist, and of The Christian Science Monitor constitute a major contribution not only to women's history but to the future of men and women as well.

If there ever was a handbook for action, it's Science and Health. Mrs. Eddy writes, "Progress takes off human shackles. The finite must yield to the infinite. Advancing to a higher plane of action, thought rises from the material sense to the spiritual, from the scholastic to the inspirational, and from the mortal to the immortal" (Science and Health, p. 256).
