This is a testimony of gratitude for how God sustains us, irrespective of where we are. The following healing gave me a better understanding of Him.
On my way to church one day in Mexico City, I found myself in the middle of traffic as I crossed the street. Afraid, I stepped back and was hit by a car. I didn't feel the impact, but I couldn't get up. Quietly I affirmed that I hadn't fallen from my perfect and spiritual state and that the whole spiritual universe in which I truly lived could in no way hurt me.
Mary Baker Eddy's words in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures came to me from memory: "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,—neither in nor of matter,—and the body will then utter no complaints" (p. 14). Some young men carried me to the sidewalk. They were very afraid and wanted to call an ambulance, but obeyed my petition to call a Christian Science practitioner instead. He arrived very quickly with one of my sons, who took me home. The practitioner continued to pray for me.
