Mary and Martha
Original in German
In a time of great hustle and bustle
suddenly the thought comes to me that
I'm being too much like Martha—
not simply sitting still
and listening to Christ
like Mary.
"One thing is needful ...
which shall not be taken away."
One thing—not many things at once.
One thing—consciousness of
divine good alone.
One thing—trust in Truth and Love.
Christ is speaking to us.
Let's be like Mary.
No one can take from us "that good part"
As we listen to the truth that
we are God's own child.
