For the next several days Lillehammer, Norway, will host a small group of dedicated men and women from around the world who are being called upon to surpass the highest level of achievement they have ever reached. Lillehammer, of course, is the site of the Winter Olympics, and this Olympiad is like the many that have preceded it. Records are waiting to be broken, incredible and beautiful performances to be executed, and new "personal bests" to be attained.
As these athletes test their abilities and talents, each of us can be encouraged to break through limitations of our own. God gives us the spiritual capacity to do so. Through Him, the source of our real strength and potential, we can move to new realms of accomplishment in our own lives that perhaps we've never before even dreamed of.
