I Can never express enough gratitude for a children's Bible...
I Can never express enough gratitude for a children's Bible storybook given to our family before I was born. As soon as I could read, I delighted in the simple lessons from the Bible stories of the unquestionable power and loving care that God provides for all His children. I enjoyed reading this book aloud to my younger sister, then to my own children and grandchildren. I believe the great-grandchildren are benefiting now from the same little book, although it has become so worn that it is difficult to read!
When I began school, a local doctor diagnosed me as having diabetes in the last stages. A specialist in this field confirmed the diagnosis, telling my parents I could not possibly live more than two or three weeks. After the two men left, I remember my discussing what steps to take. My parents were not yet church members, but they had seen the healing effects of prayer and Christian Science treatment. I was asked if I wanted to take the medicine prescribed, or if I would like to let God take care of me. I felt confident in His love for me.
