This testimony is long overdue, but it confirms my great confidence that Christian Science heals.
A number of years ago, while on my way to a friend's house to attend a dinner party, I carelessly lost my wallet—apparently in the parking lot of a large supermarket where I had stopped to make a purchase. I did not discover the wallet was missing until I arrived at the party.
I called a Christian Science practitioner for prayerful help, and he assured me that every idea of God must be in its right place. He encouraged me to expect immediate results from prayer. I looked to God for the right angel message, and a statement from the Christian Science textbook came to thought: "It is impossible that man should lose aught that is real, when God is all and eternally his" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy, p. 302). I continued to affirm that the wallet was merely a symbol of qualities, or ideas of God, and that every idea was in its proper place and could never be out of place, misplaced, or replaced. Another statement of Mrs. Eddy's that gave me much encouragement and inspiration was "No evidence before the material senses can close my eyes to the scientific proof that God, good, is supreme" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 277). I continued to pray and to give up all thoughts of fear, anxiety, and disappointment, which, did not have any power or reality.
