My friend daily studied the Lesson-Sermon that week to learn thoroughly the meaning of each section, to grasp its truths and apply them to the problems at hand.

God's will is established. It blesses everyone. The purpose of prayer is to make us feel and live in accord with God's will.

Letting God help us

Humbly accepting the help we need also indicates our desire for spiritual growth and a capacity for more good.

Valuing our prayer

We can value prayer by exercising honesty and self-control and not bouncing randomly between the sacred and the secular.
