World Monitor takes the prize

In December 1992, World Monitor magazine was recognized by the Community Action Network "for distinguished coverage of community social problems, including ideas that help in alleviating them."

Exceptional Merit Media Awards were given for "Tomorrow's Trees" from World Monitor's November 1991 issue and "A Third-World City That Works" from March 1992. A third article, "A Cure for Health Costs" from April 1992, received a Certificate of Merit.

The Community Action Network is a nonprofit organization in the United States that honors service-oriented communicators for their outstanding reporting on practical solutions to today's most critical problems.
