One morning in January 1991 I woke up feeling extremely fatigued. I couldn't breathe properly and felt a terrific pressure on my chest. I called in to my job, saying I didn't feel well enough to come to work that day. The next day there was no change in my condition.
As I prayed about this, I also read the Bible Lesson (Outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly) and various testimonies of healing and articles from the Christian Science magazines. I studied "the scientific statement of being" from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and was helped by the following verse from one of my favorite hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal:
