INSIDE: LOOKING INTO THIS ISSUE

The phrase "the healing power of spiritual purity" on our cover might raise a few questions for a new reader of the Sentinel. What is "spiritual purity," and how can it have healing power? Can something spiritual actually heal anything other than psychological or moral difficulties?

The power that heals through prayer has the authority of divine Spirit—a name the Bible uses for God—upholding it. Because Spirit is God, and God's perfect nature is unblemished, spiritual purity originates not in the human mind but in God Himself. As we understand something of God's purity and also of our own identity as God's expression, we witness a transformation of thought and are blessed with healing. Such healing—the healing of immorality and also of physical problems such as a severely strained shoulder, a recurring hip injury, and fever—is illustrated in this issue of the Sentinel.

This may be the first time you've ever considered the possibility of scientific Christian healing, or, on the other hand, spiritual healing may be the only thing you have ever known. In either case, there are insights in the pages of this Sentinel that will bring hope and inspiration to anyone looking to God for restoration.
