Since learning of Christian Science and its healing and regenerative...
Since learning of Christian Science and its healing and regenerative power almost two decades ago, I have been healed of physical, financial, relationship, and career difficulties. I will always be grateful to God for these tangible proofs of His healing power in human experience. But I am most grateful for the growth in my understanding of and love for God and His creation. This I have gained through the study and practice of Christian Science.
I was drawn to this religion shortly after my last year of college by the example of an older friend and her family; they really let the light of Christianity shine in their lives. One day, while my friend and I were doing the difficult and messy job of stripping wallpaper off the walls of an apartment they owned and which I was soon to occupy, I asked her to tell me about Christian Science.
We talked a little about God, the Bible, and the teachings of Christian Science. She offered to give me something to read. The excerpts from Sentinel articles she gave me a few days later made so much sense that I soon found myself reading the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy every chance I got, in spite of the fact that I had never considered myself a very religious person. Within a year and a half I applied for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist.
