Dating and relationships (part one)
Editor's note: We often get inquiries about dating, relationships, and marriage. This is a challenging issue in the 1990s, and in response to questions that have been raised by our readers, Managing Editor Mark Swinney recently spoke with a married couple, Julia Schechtman Pabst and Michael Pabst. This is the first part of their conversation.
Before you two met, what kinds of relationship issues did you examine closely?
Michael: I was thinking a lot about the motive for relationships. I hadn't dated as much as Julie had, but I definitely was looking for a partner. And I think a key point for me was, Do I want to get something or do I want to give something?
