One day, in an uncharacteristically clumsy move, I bumped my foot hard against a piece of furniture, and there was a cracking sound in the foot. Although I prayed for myself, the next day I could barely hobble to the telephone to call a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer. The practitioner reminded me that the real man is God's reflection and can never be separated from Him, not even for an instant.
I continued to pray to understand more clearly that in truth I am God's spiritual reflection, expressing fully His infinite freedom. Yet each day I could not put any weight on the foot; it was swollen and painful to touch. For someone who lives in a large city and has not owned a car for many years, the lack of freedom to walk was stifling.
I humbly prayed to God. Through prayer and the study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, gradually my thought was flooded with light. A flow of spiritual truths came to me in such a way that they could only have come from divine Love.
