During the years I was growing up I had the great gift of being a pupil enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School. I was healthy and free of most of the diseases commonly associated with childhood. I was a high-school junior when my dear dad passed away. I was healed of grief at that time. After college I married, moved across the country, and had the opportunity to receive class instruction in this Science. The yearly Christian Science Students Association meeting is a joy.

I recently experienced a beautiful healing that I would like to share. About a week after I was bitten severely by a cat, I became very ill and was in severe pain. The Christian Science practitioner who agreed to help me through prayer encouraged me to study a number of passages in Mrs. Eddy's writings. This one from Message to The Mother Church for 1902 was most helpful: "O glorious hope! there remaineth a rest for the righteous, a rest in Christ, a peace in Love. The thought of it stills complaint; the heaving surf of life's troubled sea foams itself away, and underneath is a deep-settled calm."

I found new joy and strength from hours of working with the hymns in the Christian Science Hymnal. This verse from one of the hymns became a favorite:
