At the end of summer vacation, when we were coming by car...
At the end of summer vacation, when we were coming by car from a beach in Spain back to Lisbon, my mother was tired, and the dog was making a lot of noise. At one point my mother stopped the car so that my friend Pedro and I wouldn't keep on making noise in the back with the dog. In Portugal you can sit in the front only if you are older than twelve, so my friend moved into the front seat.
Then, when my mother tried to start the car, it wouldn't start, and so she got out and sat down and cried, saying she was tired and the car wouldn't start and we were five kilometers away from the nearest village. So I prayed to God. In what seemed like an instant, a man appeared and asked us what was the matter. My mother said the car wouldn't start, but the man got the car started. We thanked him and went on our way. I knew God had taken care of us!
