Christian Science has been my religion since birth, for it came into our home about two years before I was born. My parents learned of Christian Science from a couple who had left their native country in Europe to move to Brazil and who were sharing their understanding of Science with their new friends.

At that time my family lived in the interior of the state, in a little settlement where conditions for farmers were somewhat precarious, especially with regard to transportation and communications. Christian Science flourished in this simple community of sincere people, and this was the beginning of Christian Science activity throughout the state.

Family difficulties were always met with the help of Science, and the results achieved attest to the efficacy of this spiritual method of healing—healings of sickness, a healing of a plague among the livestock, and the solving of financial and relationship problems.
