When I read the July 1991 issue of The Christian Science Journal, the editorial "Giving testimony" caught my attention. In particular, I paused when I read these words: "Scientifically Christian healing witnesses to the practicality of God's love in people's lives; it records the appearance of Christ in everyday events...." This statement prompted me to send in the following testimony.

A number of years ago, when our daughter was about two years old and playing in the backyard, I heard the child scream. Looking out the kitchen window, I saw her running toward the house, followed by a swarm of bees. In that moment, I was so thankful I had been singing these words from a hymn in the Christian Science Hymnal: "Shepherd, show me how to go...." The words are from a poem by Mrs. Eddy called "'Feed My Sheep.'"

I dashed out of the house, grateful that on the Oregon coast I usually clothed my little girl in a hat, coat, and boots. However, I had only a dress on. What does one do to ward off hundreds of angry bees? I couldn't beat them off or take the child inside and leave the bees outside. I prayed, "What do I do, dear Father?"
