Christian Science came into my experience early in my high-school...
Christian Science came into my experience early in my high-school years, and since then the powerful influence in my life of this radical, healing way of thinking and living has grown steadily. It has shaped me and healed me, and for this I am very grateful.
My mother was healed quickly of a serious illness with the help of a Christian Science practitioner, after being introduced to Science by a colleague. As she treasured and sought to understand what had healed her, our entire family was attracted to this religion. We all had many healings after that, even though no one but my mother became a student of Science at the time.
A significant awakening to the possibilities and responsibilities of Christian Science came while I was in college. I appreciated all I knew of Science, turned to it in difficult circumstances, but did not study or consistently practice it during my first year and a half at college. The truth I had accepted and welcomed into thought up to that time was at work, however, gently transforming my view of God, of myself, of everything. It also brought physical healings. One in particular is still fresh in memory.
