Many years ago I slipped on a wet deck behind our home. As a result, one of my ankles was painful and swollen, and not much weight could be placed on it without discomfort. At my request, a Christian Science practitioner prayed for me, and the pain was quickly healed. I used crutches for a very short time. When Wednesday came I was able to attend the testimony meeting in our branch church (without the crutches) and with a dear friend assisting me as I walked into church.

Through the prayers of the practitioner, I realized that there was a feeling of separation between a relative and me—a broken friendship, so to speak. As an outcome of prayer, friendly relations returned, and this family member and I exchanged Christmas gifts. The ankle was healed as my understanding of man's true oneness with God increased. This included seeing others in their real, spiritual natures as God's children.

For the many healings we have experienced, there are not words to express my great gratitude. Each testing time has become a proving time. Christian Science offers the most effective care available to mankind—the healing method that derives its authority from the words and works of our Way-shower, Christ Jesus.
