In search of our true parents
Knowing God as our Father-Mother can free us from the feeling that we will never have a parent's love.
[Original in German]
A Short time ago I saw a very moving program on German television with the title "Father, why do you keep silence?" It told the story of Norwegian "war babies" who are still searching for their fathers today. These fathers were invading soldiers in Norway during World War II and then left their partners and the children that later resulted from these relationships.
There are fatherless children like this not only in Norway but in all countries where soldiers have gone either in war or as occupying forces. In Norway, as the report showed, the mothers of those children were strongly condemned by the public because they had brought the "enemy's" child into the world. And that is why many times these mothers put their offspring in orphanages or gave them up for adoption. Consequently, many of these little children had no father or mother to love and care for them.
