At one time I had not slept well in days and had many tasks...
At one time I had not slept well in days and had many tasks to complete before leaving for a trip. I also had a baby to care for. However, instead of turning to God for support, I was determined to plow ahead on my own. Soon I became ill. I developed a fever, and there was also a lack of bladder control.
Humbly I turned to God in prayer. While I fed the baby I thought of passages from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, including the one that speaks of God as "the great I am; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence." Thinking deeply about these spiritual truths helped me maintain equilibrium.
Over the next few hours I recalled passages from the weekly Bible Lesson outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly. The subject of the lesson was "Truth." So many statements from Science and Health were comforting to me. I lay down as the baby napped, but I continued to pray and to reason with passages from the book.
