In the Manual of The Mother Church, Mrs. Eddy quotes these words of Paul from I Corinthians: "Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." Christian Science teaches us how to make practical and tangible this glorification of God in body and spirit. The application of these teachings enabled me to prove the power of God.

In January 1989, while I was at the beach, I felt that a condition I had been suffering from for several weeks was becoming more serious. I began to suffer from such intense pain that I asked my wife to look for a doctor. Consultation with a doctor resulted in hospitalization. The doctors urgently recommended that I submit to a gallbladder operation. I rejected the idea, although, to be honest, more out of fear of the operation itself than as a result of what I had learned through my study of Christian Science.

I decided to consult with other doctors, among them a close friend. The verdict was unanimous. I should have the operation since my gallbladder had suffered irreversible damage.
