I was brought up in a home with parents who were dedicated students of Christian Science. My father's introduction to Science came through a doctor to whom he had gone because of a case of tonsillitis. The doctor suggested he go to a Christian Science practitioner he knew. My father followed this advice and was healed of the tonsillitis. While I was growing up I enjoyed hearing of this healing and many others that took place in my family through the study and application of Christian Science.
When I was a very young child, I was bitten on the face by a dog. My mother called a Christian Science practitioner and after cleaning the wound put me down for a nap. When I woke my face was clear of marks, and there was no aftereffect of being afraid of dogs.
My husband and I have been members of a branch church and of The Mother Church all our married life. We had the privilege of having class instruction from a devoted teacher of Christian Science. Our gratitude for this is unbounded. The purification of thought that resulted from this experience has proved to be most meaningful. Our two sons are also following this scientific religion. In our family there have been many healings of a physical nature, those of ringworm, skin diseases, boils and infections, to name a few, as well as of financial difficulties. Discordant human relations have been beautifully harmonized, and there also have been a multitude of experiences of divine protection.
