What is the task of medicine and healing?
Sometimes when a "new" trend comes around, it is very much like an old trend that's almost forgotten.
A new trend in health care reminds me of what my family did while I was growing up. This development has to do with preventive medicine and the individual's taking more responsibility for his own health care.
This "new" trend was well established in our household before I knew of Christian Science. The basic outlook was that if you lived a good life, looked after yourself, didn't take needless risks, and got enough rest and proper nourishment, then health was to be expected. This was generally the case; little medication was regularly sought or needed.
